Welcome to the Safari cameras Store —
An assortment of camera equipment perfect for your safari
We've been planning safaris to Africa since 1975. Over the years we've shot over 25,000 pictures while on safari. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind while selecting your safari camera.
- Given weight restrictions on charter flights, consider a compact camera with a strong zoom or limit yourself to two lenses.
- Make sure you have enough memory cards. You'll be surprised how many pictures you can shoot on safari. A digital wallet is another option for downloading your pictures onto a smaller device than your computer.
- Sandbag camera mounts work very well to stabilize cameras on safari vehicles.
- Filters are important. We highly recommend a UV filter to protect your camera from dust. A polarizer will also help to enhance Africa's blue skies.
- A back up battery is a necessity. You'll find yourself shooting throughout the day and charging your batteries at night.
- Choose a camera bag that can sit comfortably on your lap in the safari vehicle. A safari vest with pockets is also an easy way to store your camera equipment.
